Isnt´t uni simply amazing, especially when you get to read books like this for a class?
“But now isn’t simply now. Now is also a cold reminder; one whole day later than yesterday, one year later than last year.
Every now is labelled with its date, rendering all past nows obsolete, until — later or sooner — perhaps — no, not perhaps — quite certainly: It will come.”
(Christopher Isherwood: A Single Man.1)
Teaser Tuesday is hosted by Should Be Reading and this is how it works:
- Grab your current read
- Open to a random page
- Share two (2) “teaser” sentences from somewhere on that page
- BE CAREFUL NOT TO INCLUDE SPOILERS! (make sure that what you share doesn’t give too much away! You don’t want to ruin the book for others!)
- Share the title & author, too, so that other TT participants can add the book to their TBR Lists if they like your teasers!
Interesting teaser. I always like the cover that you post. I’ll be looking forward to your review. Enjoy!
I love that, what gravity!
Wow! This is on my tbr list – hope to get to it before too long.
Wow, heavy stuff. I always struggled with prescribed texts at uni and school, however as soon as I was able to read purely for pleasure and the pressure was off a whole new world opened up. Hope you continue to enjoy this book and your course.
here is mine
Some times I think I would like and go and do something at uni.
I have two teasers this week!
Nice teaser! Very interesting!
My teaser is here.
Wow, I like this one!
Here’s mine:

Very interesting teaser! I think I had to read it 3 times before I was sure I got it. My teaser is from Naamah’s Curse by Jacqueline Carey.
I thought the first line was also part of the quote 🙂 Then I started reading the comments and then realized that it was not!
Lovely teaser! I saw this book in the bookshop, when I went there on a ‘book-buying-binge’ recently. For some reason I didn’t pick it up. This quote now asks me why I didn’t 🙂 Looking forward to reading your review of it. I love the cover of the book too 🙂
I confess I hadn’t heard of this book before the movie, but I’m very curious about it now.
Wonderful teaser! I’d love to read this book.
My teaser is here, if you want to take a look: http://abookblogofonesown.blogspot.com/2010/06/teaser-tuesday-picture-of-dorian-gray.html

From the Shadows

My TT and contest link can be found HERE
But… now is now… and yesterday is the day before… meaning that I am stuck in the NOW!
Very existential start and I will have to come back to read up on how you feel about it tomorrow… being that is is now…. ;P
Teaser is up some come on by… Yes the Italian Pema bread is out again with coffee in the background.

I read some wonderful books in uni too. It was a big perk. I’m reading Peppermints in the Parlor.
Interesting teaser – the book sounds great!
Great teaser! I’ve been wondering about this one so I look forward to reading what you think of it.
How cool that you get to read this for Uni!
Great teaser – looking forward to hearing what you think of the book!
Very interesting! I have never heard of this book. What class are you reading it for?
Thanks for vising my blog!
I can highly recommend it, Isherwood´s writing is beautiful. It´s for my queer lit class 🙂
Don’t tease! I’m rather missing uni and being ‘made’ to buy a stack of books at the beginning of every semester because they’re ‘textbooks’ for my classes. That’s probably the only time in life when one can do that guilt free. :-p
Ditto Westie Therapy’s question – what class is this for?
Hehe, I know, it´s really the best excuse! 😀 I can´t imagine uni being over, but I guess I´ll have to face it sooner rather than later. And it´s for my Queer lit class (we´re also reading Djuna Barnes, Orton, Winterson etc).
